Chronic diseases
A group of diseases that are mainly caused by lifestyle and environmental factors, have an insidious onset, have a long and protracted course, and lack evidence of a definitive infectious biologic etiology.
Note: Chronic diseases currently in focus include cardiovascular diseases, cancer, chronic respiratory diseases, diabetes and mental health issues.
-
Behavior and lifestyle factors that can cause a disease to occur or make it more likely to occur.
Note: Chronic diseases-related behavior risk factors mainly include personal behavioral and lifestyle risk factors such as smoking, alcohol consumption, unhealthy diet, insufficient physical activity, and sleep disorders.
-
An activity in which there is an increase in the body's energy expenditure due to the contraction of skeletal muscle.
Note: This document categorizes daily physical activity according to its type into occupational physical activity (including household activities), transportation physical activity, and recreational physical activity.
-
Activities that require moderate physical effort, cause a mild increase in respiration and heart rate compared to the resting state, and usually consume three to six times the energy per minute as in the resting state.
-
Activities that require greater physical effort, cause a significant increase in respiration and heart rate compared to the resting state, and typically consume more than six times as much energy per minute as the resting state.
-
